New ADUN VC, Prof. Ogbogbo outlines vision for varsity ~ Truth Reporters

The new Vice Chancellor of the Admiralty University of Nigeria ( ADUN), Professor Christopher Bankole Ndubisi Ogbogbo, has pledged to be guided by his vision for the institution , which is to nurture a university that is locally impactful, and internationally competitive.



Professor Ogbogbo, ADUN,s second Vice Chancellor since inception, also emphasized that his mission is to further consolidate the foundations of the university , for sustained growth and development.



The new Vice Chancellor who gave these undertakings during his inaugural speech to mark his formal inauguration at the University Law Auditorium., on Wednesday 12th March 2025, stressed that these laudable visions will require the courage to reconfigure ADUN,s academic to suit its purpose , while being ready to jettison ineffectual and unimpactful ideas , suing for the institution to cultivate, and be defined by a tradition of academic excellence that revolves around the 3-H principle of education , to wit , heads , hearts ,and hands working in unison "to deliver value to our stakeholders"


The second ADUN Vice Chancellor was strident thus:" We must have the courage to dream big, be zealous about actualizing our aspirations and be ready to reconfigure the boundaries of scholarship for the anticipated future. We must target building a university with distinct character in knowledge production. I pledge to work tirelessly to propel our institution to greater heights and positive visibility . While strengthening the existing courses, new ones shall be established"



The new Vice Chancellor , a Professor of Law , tasked Principal officers , faculty , staff and students , that collectively , they have a responsibility to build a community of scholars that will be known for cutting-edge knowledge production and dissemination, promising to support and empower them to achieve their full potentials in areas of welfare and working together to foster a culture of inclusivity



While extending an olive branch to the supporting communities and stakeholders by being partners in progress towards providing the people and the global community a first class institution in Anioma land that will be a source of pride to Nigeria , the brand new ADUN Vice Chancellor reaffirmed his commitment to the core values of integrity, honesty, and the pursuit of truth that will ultimately result in extending the frontiers of knowledge



Earlier , the Registrar of ADUN, Commodore Isaac Mankilik ( rtd), described the inauguration of the institution,s second Vice Chancellor as not just a change in leadership , but also the beginning of a new chapter as a university in its pursuit of academic excellence, innovation and societal impact.



The ADUN Registrar also placed on record the exemplary service , commitment , and invaluable contributions of the acting Vice Chancellor, Professor Dili Ofuokwu, during the period he acted.



The highpoints of the inauguration ceremony was the administration of the oaths of allegiance and office on the new Vice Chancellor, by the university,s Dean of the Faculty of Law, Professor Matthew Nwocha, as well as the formal handover of the relevant documents to Professor Ogbogbo, by the Deputy Vice Chancellor, Rear Admiral MM Abdullahix
