Ika South: Prophet Igbodo Savours Ehiwarior's Devt Tempo ~ Truth Reporters
A renowned Christian clergyman in Agbor, Prophet Joseph Igbodo, has described the Ika South Local Government Chairman, Engr. Jerry Ehiwarior, as a dynamic and forward -looking young but experienced leader whose style of leadership had shown that the youths had what it takes to do well, if given opportunity to occupy important public offices.
Prophet Igbodo, who is the proprietor of Job Orphanage, on Charles Street, Agbor, told journalists in a chat that he had been closely following the activities of the Chairman, whom, he explained, had performed beyond the expectations of many people.
"Look at the market he built in Alihame community, where the University of Delta is situated. There is no doubt the long -term benefits of that market ,which is going to serve both the locals and students. That was a brilliant initiative to have a market built in the area.
"Then, you have the long neglected Abude Street that now has a beautiful new look. Whenever I drive past that area, I always say a word of prayer for the young man that God will continue to be with him.
"I will not fail to mention other projects his administration has completed or are still under construction, which include grocery stores, Alifekede Daily Market and the bridge across Orogodo River. These are all people- centred initiatives that will give long- term benefits to our people," he said.
The cleric who is widely known for his philanthropy, especially in providing succour for widows across Ika land, encouraged the Chairman to do more, even as he advised him to continue to seek counsel from elders and leaders in the locality to help him to remain on the path of success.
Prophet Igbodo also lauded the immediate past Governor of Delta State, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, for the massive infrastructural development of Delta State, particularly Ika land, which was transformed during his tenure of office.
"Senator Okowa is a blessing to Ika Nation. He was able to build good roads networks and other infrastructures across Ika land, including the establishment of University of Delta in Agbor. He will remain a reference point in the development of the state ," he added.
He equally commended the Founder and Chairman of Zenith Bank, Mr. Jim Ovia, for being at the forfront in human capacity building, especially in assisting the indigent and orphans.
He prayed God to continue to protect and empower Senator Okowa, Mr. Ovia and Engr. Ehiwarior, as they work for the good of humanity.
