Ehiwarior Reaffirms Vow On Wellbeing Of Ika South Residents ~ Truth Reporters

 

The Chairman of Ika South Local Government, Engr. Jerry Ehiwarior, has again assured of his administration's unwavering commitment to the safety and well being of residents of the local government area.

Engr. Ehiwarior gave the assurance while addressing the executives and other  members of DDPA Low-cost Housing Estate, Agbor, who were in his office on a courtesy visit.

The Chairman, who expressed joy at the prevailing peace in the local government area, said he would continue to put the interest of the people first in all decisions and programmes of the administration.

On the issue of the activities of scavengers popularly known as 'iron condemn', which the delegation complained about, the local government boss promised to look into it with a view to ensuring that the  area is free from all  the unwholesome activities of undesirable elements who constitute nuisance and security to lives and property in the area.

He also remarked that all issues raised by the landlords and landladies of the estate would  be addressed, adding that he would personally pay inspection visit to the estate with a view to determine how best the properties belonging to the Council within the estate could be put into functional and profitable use for the benefit of residents.

Engr. Ehiwarior, while acknowledging and appreciating the people of Ika South Local Government Area for their immense support and prayers, said every part of the local government area would feel the positive impact of his administration.

Earlier, on behalf of the delegation, the Chairman of DDPA Low-cost Housing Estate, Agbor, Associate Professor Pally Ejime Agidi, said they were in the Chairman's office to congratulate and also commend him for the good work he was doing for the people of Ika South.

He requested that the Council look critically into what he referred to as, 'the illegal and unwholesome dumping of refuse by some residents who have refused to patronize waste managers' and pleaded with the Chairman to direct the environmental department of the Council to issue abatement notices to erring residents, as that, according to him, will help minimize filthiness in the environment and keep the local government area clean.

Prof. Agidi, who is a lecturer in the Department of Political Science, University of Delta, Agbor, disclosed that residents of the area  were overwhelmed with joy at the accomplishments of the Chairman in just a few months of being in office.

He urged Engr Ehiwarior to remain steadfast in his push for good governance and provision of infrastructure and human development, and highlighted the fact that his performance was being acknowledged by the people.
