Stay off Aniagbala land, Ejiofor cautions Obi of Ogwashi-Uku, land grabbers ~ Truth Reporters

 

In what appears to be an unending spate of allegations , even in spite of the Justice Emudainohwo led Commission of lnquiry set up by the state government, the Onishe of Ubulu Uku , a boundary town with Ogwashi Uku in Aniocha South , Chief Emma Ejiofor , PhD , has alleged that the Obi of Ogwashi uku, HRM lfechukwude Okonjo, has , in connivance with proxies from Ubulu Uku, commenced illegal acquisition of ancestral lands belonging to Aniagbala quarters , in Ubulu Uku kingdom.

The Ubulu Uku traditional Prime Minister , has thus cautioned Obi lfechukwude Okonjo , or any of his proxies, from causing actions that could lead to a breach of the peace within the encroached Aniagbala land in mention.

According to Chief Ejiofor , in a statement issued to newsmen captioned WARNING TO LAND GRABBERS lN UBULU UKU FARMLANDS, "recent actions, specifically those attributed to the Obi of Ogwashi Uku , concerning the Aniagbala farmland , demonstrates a flagrant disregard for established traditional land ownership practices and the rule of law".

Chief Ejiofor emphasized that Ubulu Uku farmland ownership is determined through generations of use and stewardship by specific quarters and kindreds, exceeding 30 years in many cases.

The traditional Prime Minister of Ubulu Uku kingdom added that the purported legal claim to portions of Aniagbala communal land , lacks merit and will be vigorously challenged.

Said Chief Emma Ejiofor : "attempts to claim land with no historical filial connection to cultivation in that area , constitute a violation of long standing traditions , and are thus , unacceptable. This illegal activity of the Obi of Ogwashi uku in Aniagbala farm lands , will not be tolerated. Robust mechanisms are in place to address these transgressions ".

He therefore warned that those involved will face the full face of the law, as well as other traditional consequences, for their illegal actions , emphasizing that the Aniagbala people of Ubulu Uku are of one accord on this brazen act of land grabbing of some person's and groups within and outside Ubulu Uku
