The Isoko Nation Unity Table Tennis Tournament continued in full swing on its second day of preliminary matches, with athletes and spectators alike reveling in the high-energy atmosphere at the Faculty of Law Sports Complex of the Delta State University,  Oleh Campus. 

The tournament, a celebration of sportsmanship and unity among the peolle of Isoko, has drawn participants from across the Isoko North and South Local Government Areas, fostering camaraderie and showcasing exceptional talent.

Day two of the preliminaries saw competitors from Aviara, Onogboko, Ofagbe, Oleh, Okpe-Isoko, Irri and Oyede clans batling to secure a top-four position to guarantee their participation in the grand finale scheduled to hold next month at the prestigious Isoko Unity House. 

Hundreds of Spectators who showed up today, cheered as each match unfolded, with community leaders and sports enthusiasts emphasizing the tournament’s role in promoting unity and youth engagement.

 Speaking to the press, the organizer, Dr. Palmer Ogheneyole Nathaniel, popular refered to as The Black Prince of Isoko Nation  tournament organizer said, the Isoko Nation Unity Table Tennis Tournament was more than a sporting event; and a platform to unite our people and inspire the younger generation to embrace sports as a tool for growth and discipline.

"The Isoko Nation Unity Table Tennis Tournament, is not just a sporting event; it is a unifying platform that inspires our younger generation to see sports as a powerful tool for growth and discipline, why also embracing the unity that binds us as a people", he said.

As the tournament progresses, anticipation builds for the final rounds, where the best players will compete for the championship title and the pride of their communities. With the stakes rising and competition intensifying, the Isoko Nation continues to celebrate its unity through the spirit of the game.

The preliminaries will conclude on Saturday 30th November 2024, with Okugbe-Isoko clan playing in faraway Bayelsa State. This is however expected to set the stage for the finals to hold in December.
