I Will Remain Focused On My Mandate - Ehiwarior ~ Truth Reporters

The Chairman of Ika South Local Government, Engr. Jerry Ehiwarior, has said that he would remain focused on the core mandate of service inherent in his election victory.

He stated this while playing host to the Governor, Rotary District  9141, Rotarian Chinedu Ikegwani, in his office at the local government Secretariat, Agbor, on Wednesday.

He maintained that his administration would leave no stone unturned in its efforts to ensure that the people of Ika South Local Government Area were given the best in terms of good governance.

He disclosed that the attention being given Abude Street, which is under construction by his administration, was due to its strategic importance to residents of the local government area.

"Our priority is our people who are the primary reason we are in office. That was why we embarked on the various projects that are  now nearing completion.

"We will continue to do the best we can to see that the people feel the impact of government. We know that it is difficult to please everybody, but we will not be deterred because we regard what we are doing as part of community development.

"I assure our people that this administration is working tirelessly toward leaving lasting legacies. I am using this opportunity to remind us that whichever office we occupy is on behalf of the people," he stated.

He assured the visitors that as a member of Rotary Club, he would always follow the philosophy of the association anchored on selfless service to the people.

"I am a member of Rotary, and I believe the values I have learned since joining have helped shape my attitude to public service," the local government boss stressed.

He commended Rotary for its resilience in  pushing for a better society.

Earlier, the District Governor, Rotarian Chinedu Ikegwuani, said they were in the Chairman's office to identify with him for the good work he was  doing.

The Rotary Governor thanked the Chairman for his proactive approach to governance, observing that, in less than four months of being in office, he had endeared himself to the people of Ika South Local Government Area with his superlative performance.

According to him, "It gives us a lot of joy seeing young people like you being elected into public office, and greater joy seeing your marvellous outputs."
