AMJU Unique Microfinance Bank Opens in Emevor ~ Truth Reporters

Emevor, a serene community in Isoko North Local Government Area of Delta State, witnessed a historic event on wednesday, as AMJU Unique Microfinance Bank officially opened its doors to the public. The occasion was marked by widespread jubilation as residents celebrated the arrival of a financial institution that promises to transform the  economic landscape of the area.

The inauguration ceremony was graced by dignitaries, community leaders, and elated locals who turned out in large numbers to witness the dawn of what many described as a new era of financial inclusivity and economic empowerment.

In his remark, the chairman of Isoko North Local Government Area, Hon. (Elder) Godwin Ogorugba, said the bank was a good initiative that Isoko people are happy to be part of.

He said those who are known for playing politics with everything must stop forthwith and should not bring such moves close to the bank, as the idea of the bank was to bring financial emancipation to the grassroots.

While enjoining everyone to support the bank, Ogorugba commended the management of AMJU Unique Microfinance Bank  for bringing succor to the people.

“Our people are happy with this project. Our traders can now put their money here without the inconvenience of going to another community. We now have a bank that we can call our own and as such we should not do anything to frustrate the effort of the management of this bank.  We should not bring politics here. We cannot play politics with everything.  Politics must have where it should end. This bank is bringing economic empowerment and financial security to our people, and this is not what we should play with”, he said,

“With the insecurity challenges we are facing as a nation, our people can just walk into this bank and make withdrawals without facing the security risk of travelling out of here. So let us continue to encourage our community to grow by doing everything humanly possible to support this bank”, he concluded.

In his remark, Prof. Christopher Akpotu, a respected opinion leader and  President of the Isoko Development Union (IDU), lauded the initiative, expressing his profound appreciation to the bank’s Managing Director, Dr. Jonathan Ososuakpor, for his vision and dedication.

“This is a monumental achievement for Emevor and Isoko” Akpotu stated. “Dr. Jonathan Ososuakpor has brought a reputable financial institution right to our doorstep, eliminating the hurdles of accessing banking services in urban centers. I urge the good people of Emevor and Isoko in general to embrace this opportunity, save wisely, and invest in their futures.”

Chairman of the bank, Engr. Augustine Efeturi Oghenejobo, also delivered a compelling address, emphasizing the importance of professionalism among the bank’s staff while and appealed to the bank to lower the minimum deposit required to open accounts.

“Our staff must prioritize customer satisfaction by upholding the highest standards of professionalism,” Chief Oghenejobo said. “Furthermore, i enjoin your people to lower the bar for minimum deposits to ensure that every Emevor resident and the entire Isoko people  regardless of their financial standing, can access our services. This bank is for everyone, and we are here to serve.”

The atmosphere was electric ad chiral displays, music, and dance added a festive touch to the event. Residents expressed excitement at the prospect of having a reliable financial partner to support small businesses, enhance savings, and facilitate financial literacy in the community.

Dignitaries that attended the event includes, Chairman  of Isoko South, Comrade Friday Warri, His  Royal Majesty Okpuzo Romanus Inana, the Odiologbo of Owhe Kingdom, HRM Isaiah Isike, the odiologbo of olomoro kingdom, and the immediate past regent of Emevor Community Dr. Johnholt Ologho.

Others are, Chairman of Hospital Management Board, Dr. Paul Oweh, former President-General of Isoko Development Union, Chief Iduh Amadhe, Senior Special Assistant New Media to the Governor,  Dr. Palmer Ogheneyole Nathaniel, Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on community development, Mr. Vote Umukoro and a host of other dignitaries.
