You Are Doing Well, Obi Irenuma Tells Ehiwarior ~ Truth Reporters

 

The traditional ruler of Abavo kingdom, His Royal Majesty, Obi Uche Irenuma 11, has described the Chairman of Ika South Local Government, Engr. Jerry Ehiwarior,  as a resourceful leader  desirous of enhancing development in the local government area.

The Obi made the description at his palace when he received the Chairman of the local government, Engr Ehiwarior and management team of thethe  local government who came to felicitate with him on the occasion of New Yam festival of Abavo Kingdom.

The Abavo Monarch, who was full of praise for the chairman, said he was particularly impressed with his governance approach which, he said, was geared towards the accelerated development of the area.

"I am glad that we now have a youthful and resourceful young man piloting the affairs of our local government. With the reports we are getting, I can boldly say he is doing a great job.

"I am aware that there are numerous ongoing projects in different parts of Ika South initiated by the current administration. I believe the projects, when completed, will have a favourable impact on our people. I want to sincerely commend you for starting on a good note. Do not lower the pace, as we are praying for you to succeed in your assignment,' he stated.

Obi Irenuma  urged the chairman to put measures in place to fight crime in Ika South, affirming that 'Abavo seems to be the epicentre of insecurity especially kidnapping,' which, he said, the community had had to contend with in recent times.

He assured Engr Ehiwarior of the  necessary support of Abavo people, and urged him to 'ensure security operatives are encouraged to be diligent in the fight against insecurity.'

Earlier, Engr. Ehiwarior expressed gratitude to the traditional ruler for his support and encouragement since he assumed office.

He noted that the support he had received of the traditional institution so far had been overwhelming, adding that the high level of support had been one of the cord factors spurring him to do more for the people of Ika South.

He assured the Obi that every part of the local government area would receive the development attention of his administration, pointing out that he was elected to serve the people, and, therefore, would not fail them.

The chairman informed the king that efforts were on to effectively tackle crime and make the local government area safer, and called on residents to be vigilant and  work as partners in the development of Ika South.
