Central to Governor Oborevwori’s M.O.R.E Agenda—Meaningful Development, Opportunities for All, Realistic Reforms, and Enhanced Peace and Security—is a robust infrastructural push aimed at seamless connectivity and enhanced development across the state.

The recent partnership with construction titan, Julius Berger PLC, already entrusted with several flagship projects such as new bridges and flyovers, showcases an unwavering commitment to modernizing Delta State’s infrastructure.

Recognizing the importance of sustainable development, the governor has proposed a minimum of N1 billion for each local government area for road construction projects as part of the 2024 budget.

This significant financial commitment signals his determination to not only improve transportation networks but also stimulate local economies by encouraging local contractors and labour.

“We want to ensure that our people are not only beneficiaries of government projects, but also stakeholders in our development narrative,” he emphasizes, signalling an approach that promotes local engagement and economic growth.

Delta State’s infrastructure landscape has long been a spectre of promise and challenges. For years, inadequate road networks and insufficient access to basic amenities had stymied economic growth and made an otherwise vibrant state somewhat sluggish.
