1,024 Deltans benefit from Onojaeme's free medical outreach ~ Truth Reporters

As part of efforts to improve the quality of life for residents in the rural communities, a total of 1,024 persons benefitted from a one day Free Medical Outreach for some communities in Isoko North Local Government Area.
The outreach which covered free medical and day case surgeries is a philanthropic gesture of the Delta State Honourable Commissioner for Health, Dr. Joseph Onojaeme. Primary Health Centers who benefited from this gesture are those in Ellu, Ovrode and Aradhe communities in Isoko North Local Government Area.
“This outreach is a way of giving back to the community, as health is the foundation for any form of empowerment. By ensuring that our rural populations are healthy, we are investing in their future and in the future of Delta State the Commissioner disclosed.
The Commissioner for Health, Dr. Joseph Onojaeme who was represented at the event by his Technical Advisor, Dr. Omovigho Agbele said 14 surgeries including Herniorrhaphies, Herniotomies, excision biopsy of suspected fibroadenoma, keloid excisions, lumpectomies and Hydrocoelectomies were carried out.
Furthermore, free health screenings for hypertension and diabetes were carried out.
There was also general and specialist consultations, treatment for common illnesses, as well as health education sessions that focused on preventive care.
Beneficiaries received care from a dedicated team of healthcare professionals, comprising of 63 doctors, 24 nurses, and 13 support workers all equipped to deliver high-quality medical assistance in the three centers.
The medical outreach highlighted the power of philanthropy in addressing critical needs within society, especially in areas where government resources may be limited. By providing these essential health services, the programme aimed to foster a healthier, more empowered rural community in Delta State.
Beneficiaries included Amos Eremise from Ofagbe community who was operated on due to hernia condition.
