Ogorugba mulls synergy with community leaders in keeping Isoko North clean ~ Truth Reporters
***Urges residents living in riverine areas to start relocating children
The Chairman of Isoko North Local Government Council, Hon. Elder Godwin Ogorugba , has called for synergy with various community leaders in order to actualise his agenda of "Operation Keep Isoko North Clean".
Ogorugba made the call through the Supervisor for Environment Comr. Joshua Alebe during the monthly special sanitation exercise at, Ozoro, headquarters of Isoko North LGA.
He emphasized that in order to actualize clean and healthy environment for Isoko North people, all community leaders and residents must sit up with their responsibilities to work in synergy with the Local Government Council.
The Council Chairman frowned at indiscriminate disposal of refuse at illegal dump sites, drains and environs causing sickness and diseases and blockage of drains leading to partial flooding most especially in Ozoro community and it's environs.
The Council boss appeals to residents to cultivate a culture of clearing, cleaning and proper gathering of their refuse for disposal through registered private services providers (PSP) or to recommended government dump sites.
He emphasised that a clean environment is what guarantees a healthy living and it must be every one's business to keep Isoko North clean.
In a related development, Hon. Ogorugba has appealed to residents living in the riverine communities and flood prone areas to start gathering their farm produce as the flood level continues to rise on daily basis.
He urged them to start relocating their children and some of their farm produce to safer environment, promising to communicate them if the need arises for them to relocate to designated government IDPs camps.
The Council boss also joins them in prayers to God Almighty to stop the looming flood, saying "with God all things are possible".
