Isoko North pupils laud Gov. Oborevwori over free notebooks ~ Truth Reporters

Ozoro: Over Nine thousand (9,000) primary school pupils in Isoko North local government Area have lauded Governor Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta State for making his MORE AGENDA visible and impactful to the people. 




The pupils also commended the Isoko North Council Chairman, Hon Elder Prince Godwin Ogorugba for his visionary educational initiative of free notebooks distribution Tagged "BRIGHTENING ISOKO NORTH FUTURE THROUGH EDUCATION" Consolidating the MORE AGENDA. 


The primary school pupils who were overwhelmed with the free notebooks, jumped and sang praises of the governor and Isoko North Council Chairman for the surprised gifts through out the 43 public primary schools in the local government as they also offered heartfelt prayers for them, saying Ogorugba is a blessing to Isoko North LGA. 


Speaking during the presentation, Engr Thomas Akpoedafe,  Supervisor for Agriculture and community development who represented the council Chairman during the flag off ceremony held at Egburie primary school Ozoro, said Education is the only master key for sustainable, successful and brighter future of any child. 


"For every child to be great, he/she must have a basic knowledge of education especially in this 21st century", hence the Isoko North Chairman initiatives of brightening Isoko North Future Through Education Consolidating the MORE AGENDA of his Excellency Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori on education sector. 





Ogorugba said considering the economic holocaust facing our dear country Nigeria, I can tell you categorically that most parents in the rural communities can't afford notebooks and textbooks for their children/wards. 


Depriving the children from going to school to acquire basic knowledge of education, hence Isoko North Council has taken it as their responsibility to provide free Exercise notebooks to all the pupils across the 43 public primary schools in the local government that comprises over 9, 000 pupils. 


The council boss called on non-governmental organizations/ agencies ( NGO) and critical stakeholders to partner with the council in order to provide the pupils basis subjects text books such as, Mathematics, English language, Social study, integrated science, Isoko language among others. 


Comr. Okpowe Sunday, Chairman Association of primary school teachers of Nigeria ,Isoko-North Chapter speaking on behalf of Isoko North teachers thanked the Isoko North Council Chairman Hon. Ogorugba for his visionary leadership strides in all sectors since assumption in office less than 100 days. 


Ogorugba has done noble especially this Back-to - school programme which is putting smiles on the faces of our pupils across length and breadth of Isoko North. 


"We are very grateful. "Saying it is first of it's kind since the creation of local government in 1991, no council Chairman has embarked on this kind huge laudable programme. 


"I therefore pray God Almighty to continue to grant the Chairman divine wisdom and protection to do more for Isoko North people."
