Ehiwarior Reiterates Peaceful Co-existence At Eid-ul-Mawlid ~ Truth Reporters
Muslim faithful in Ika South have been called upon to pray for the sustainable peace and progress of Nigeria.
The call was made by Chairman of Ika South Local Government, Engr. Jerry Ehiwarior, in a goodwill message to Muslims as they celebrate the birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad(Eid-ul-Mawlid)
In the message signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Jonathan Onwuka, Engr. Ehiwarior noted that, "at this critical point that we are faced with numerous challenges, especially insecurity, hunger and rising inflation, it is imperative for us to pray ceaselessly for God's intervention.
"Every Nigerian, irrespective of faith and ethnic backgrounds, must understand the enormity of the challenges plaguing us as a people.
" I challenge our Muslim brothers and sisters, especially those domiciled in Ika South local government area, to imbibe the spirit of sacrifice and peaceful co-existence."
The Chairman urged the religious adherents to use the opportunity of the celebration to proffer solutions to the challenges of the society.
"Today should not be mere holiday but a day for sober reflections. Just as I want you to be steadfast in your prayers, you should also be resourceful and hardworking. God will certainly reward your work", the council boss assured.
Engr. Ehiwarior appealed to Muslim leaders to continue to support integration as it remains the best way for mutual trust.
