Cooperate With Oborevwori, Desist From Public Criticism, D25L Urges Senator Nwoko ~ Truth Reporters

The  State Coordinator of D25L and former Secretary to Ughelli South Local Government Council,  Mr. Joseph Uburche, has called on Senator Ned Nwoko to  cooperate and support Governor Sheriff Oborevwori Administration rather than resorting to public criticism against the governor.

He  said that such criticism could create tension in certain parts of Delta State and misrepresent the leadership of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori.

Speaking at a meeting of D25L members held on  September 16, 2024, Ubrurhe expressed concern over Nwoko's approach to airing grievances. 

He emphasized the importance of due process in addressing political matters, stating, "Senator Ned Nwoko is well-versed in the democratic process. Resorting to public attacks rather than following appropriate channels is counterproductive."

Ubrurhe, however, commended Governor Oborevwori for his efforts in executing vital infrastructure projects across the state.

 He listed projects the governor has carried in Delta North to include  Dennis Osadebe University project, the construction of the State High Court Complex, and the 16km internal road and drainage works in the Madonna Road area as well as the  improvements to the Okpanam-Ibusa Road, which cuts across Oshimili South and Oshimili North Local Government Areas respectively.

Highlighting the Governor's inclusive leadership, Ubrurhe praised Oborevwori's dedication to development across all three senatorial zones of Delta State. 

He stressed that it was  unwise for Senator Nwoko to create division within the People's Democratic Party (PDP) and among the people of Delta, especially in light of Nwoko's ambitions for re-election in 2027.

Addressing one of the key issues between the two political figures—the OKPAI IPP project, Ubrurhe explained that  such matters be settled privately in a manner similar to family discussions.

 "These matters are best resolved behind closed doors, without unnecessary public confrontation," he added.

Ubrurhe appealed for unity and collaboration between Senator Nwoko and Governor Oborevwori for the overall progress of Delta State. "For the benefit of Deltans, I urge both leaders to work together in harmony to continue the state's development," he concluded.
