Barr. Lyna Ocholor, the eminent clerk of clerks, bows out ~ Truth Reporters

Few days ago precisely on monday 9th September, 2024, marked the glorious and celebrated retirement from civil service of Barr. Mrs Lyna Aliya Ocholor, the Clerk of the Delta State House of Assembly. Prior to her retirement, the seasoned administrator and erudite lawyer was on secondment in the Governor's office as his Principal Private Secretary. For the number of years she functioned as the Clerk of the House, Ocholor's unimpeachable intelligence, perspicaciousness and capacious professionalism, was a major contributing factor to the successes of the Governor while he served as speaker. She was, and still remains a towering intellectual figure whose contributions have left an indelible mark on the Delta State House of Assembly. 

As the Clerk of Clerks, Barr. Ocholor exemplified diligence, wisdom, and unparalleled leadership throughout her years of service. Her meticulous attention to details and cavernous understanding of legislative processes formed the bedrock upon which the Assembly stood. 

Her tenure as Clerk was not merely one of oversight but of profound dedication. With her at the helm of the legislative administration, the Assembly thrived in its mission of governance and lawmaking. She consistently ensured that the legislature operated with precision, integrity, and the highest regard for due process while giving adequate priority to the welfare of staff. 

Barr. Ocholor will be remembered for her legacy of steadfast loyalty to the institution she served. She has inspired generations with her exemplary work ethic and commitment to the common good, and her presence will be deeply missed. 

As the Assembly  bids farewell to a genuis and an urbane administrator with the prestigious record of the 'longest serving clerk in its history', with a tenure crisscrossing five speakers; an era that was indeed defined by her meritorious and exemplary service, we wish her joy, peace,  and all other good things that comes with retirement. We pray for divine  fulfillment in the new chapter of her life as she join hands with the rest of us to bring MORE development to Delta. 

For us in Isoko, we are proud of our darling wife and mother whose name will forever be etched in the annals of the Delta State House of Assembly as a clerk whose excellence paved the way for many, and whose wisdom and intellect will resonate for years to come.
