Table Tennis: Isoko North's best to battle in Emevor, July 12 ~ Truth Reporters
The ongoing Isoko North Table Tennis Tournament will conclude on Friday, July 12, 2024.
The tournament, the first of its kind in Delta State and the entire nation, commenced at Emevor in Isoko North on June 28. Since then, other clans in Isoko North have been holding their own qualifiers to select the best four players who will represent them at the grand finale this Friday.
A statement by the facilitator of the contest, Dr. Palmer Ogheneyole Nathaniel (The Black Prince of Isoko Nation), indicated that the final match would take place at the prestigious Peccan Hotel, Dr. Jonathan Ososuakpor Street, Emevor, on Friday, July 12, 2024, at 9 am prompt.
The event is expected to be chaired by the Member representing Isoko Federal Constituency in the Federal House of Representatives, Hon. Pastor Jonathan Ukodhiko.
Dr. Palmer stated that the finals promise to live up to expectations, showcasing the best of table tennis in Isoko North. Prizes include N300,000 cash for 1st position, N250,000 cash for 2nd position, N200,000 cash for 3rd position, and other consolation prizes for each participant.
Palmer, who is the Senior Special Assistant to the Delta State Governor Rt. Hon. Sheriff F.O. Oborevwori on New Media, also mentioned that the first prize would be presented to the winner by the Chairmanship Candidate of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) in the forthcoming Local Government election, Deacon Godwin Ogorugba. The honorable member representing Isoko North Constituency in the Delta State House of Assembly, Hon. Barr. Bernard Odior; his Isoko South Constituency 1 and 2 counterparts, Hon. Bino Owode and Hon. Chief Ferguson Onwo; the chairmanship candidate of Isoko South Local Government, Hon. Friday Ovoke Warri; the Honourable Commissioner for Health, Dr. Joseph Onojaeme; and the Executive Director of Finance and Administration in the board of the Delta State Oil and Gas Area Development Commission (DESOPADEC), Chief Kome Okpobor, will be special guests of honor at the event.
Other special guests of honor expected at the event include the first son of the Governor, Mr. Sheriff Oborevwori Junior; the past chairman of Isoko North and Director-General of the Isoko North PDP campaign council, Hon. Emmanuel Egbabor; Chairman of the campaign council, Dr. Barr. Chief Paul Owhe; Chief Emmanuel Okpomo Erezih; Dr. Pharm Nelson Ejakpovi; Comr. Nelson Egware; Hon. Joseph Ekowhiro; and several others.
