By Kelvin Ohoror

A leading aspirant of the Local Government council forthcoming election and the convener of Youth O'clock in Delta State Comrade Paris Blessed Ubara has called on the People's Democratic Party (PDP) in Delta State and the Elder Sheriff Oborevwori led administration to give the youths an opportunity to become local government chairmen in the state.

He made this known during the consultation meeting with the Isoko South LGA executive of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) at the party secretariat in Oleh, headquarter of Isoko South Local Government Area.

Speaking during the consultation, he said "This era we are now belongs to the youths, our leaders, we have so much regard for them, it is time for them to climb to statesmanship, they should be our voice like Edwin Kiagbodo Clark. They shouldn't be the one to aspire to become local government council chairmen or fighting for who will become the local government chairman".

He appealed that. "There should be a level playing ground for all aspirants to test their popularity and capacity. It is not only when we are doing election that the youths should be remember. We cannot continue like this, there should be a reform to bring the youths into the system".

According to him, "The governor made a promise of youths friendly administration during his governorship electioneering campaign throughout the state. The youths are watching keenly, they are looking forward to that promised".

He noted that, there was no meeting in Oleh were they agreed that it is LGA Party chairman they need, whoever is carrying that rumour is on his own in Oleh ward 1 and 2 of the PDP.

He added that, despite the challenges the party encountered during the 2023 general election they were able to surmount it, adding that Isoko South Local Government came out with flying colours.

He said that, "I have no money, I have no connection but I have God Almighty. Let me tell you, I am a bonafide member of the PDP, I have sticked my neck for the party. This time around, nobody will shortchange the youths. We will not accept imposition of candidate. What is coming will shock whoever thinks the youths in Isoko are playing", he warned.

He admonished the LGA party chairman Hon. Godspower Obaro who according to him is the beacon of hope to the youths to remain steadfast and resolute and continue to stand for the truth.

Reacting to the address of Comrade Paris Blessed Ubara, the People's Democratic Party Local Government Area chairman Hon. Godspower Obaro said that "There is time and season for everything, my tenure was very tough with challenges as an LGA chairman."

He opined that,  When I was elected alongside with my executive, we prayed that our time should be better, win election and unite the party. But at that time we saw different things that we make the party not to be united, but with God helping us we were able to unite the party".

He added that he will always be on the side of truth no matter the situation. I will not be an LGA chairman who will leave his position with a bad name, God cannot allow it to happen.

He emphasized that, "I told you earlier on, when you came to consult me that we have an internal arrangement within the party in Isoko South Local Government, due to the fact that Hon. Itiako Constantine Ikpokpo did two tenure from constituency 1. We agreed that constituency 2 must also complete their two tenure. During our last meeting we also re- enforced the decision:.

He further said that "Although, that internal arrangement is not known to the party constitution. I am only telling you what is on ground regards to the internal arrangement. But everything is in the hands of God Almighty"

"If you want to become anything politically you must fight for it to achieve it. You can't be in your comfort zone and achieve result".

He recognized that Comrade Ubara  worked for the People's Democratic Party in Isoko South faithfully. "I am not just saying it, I have heard of you, if you have not worked I will also tell you".

"Look at the crowd that follow you to this place today, especially the youths. If you are not good to them they wouldn't have follow you here. You are the kind of political material that we want in the system. I will encourage you to be focus, don't sit at home, don't relent, follow it up. I pray that what you are fighting for will materialize", he said.
