Joel-Onowakpo to politicians, do away with politics of bitterness ~ Truth Reporters
By Andy Emephia
The era of politics of bitterness and opposition at the detriment of delivery of democratic dividends to the electorate should be discarded
In an interview with newsmen after the one year in office thanksgiving at the Living Faith church ( winners chapel) , in Asaba, Senator Joel Onowakpo Thomas , representing Delta South at the Red Chambers of the national assembly , urged politicians across party lines , to focus on governance and delivery of democratic dividends once elections have been concluded
He frowned at the idea of playing politics of bitterness , affirming that the sole purpose of representation is to attract good governance and make impact on the people through provision of basic infrastructure and policies that will make life better for the people
Senator Onowakpo commended Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for appreciating God,s faithfulness in his emergence as the number one citizen of the State, describing the Governor as a broad minded individual who sees himself first as a Deltan in all his interactions
Said the APC Delta Central Senator :"l am here at Governor Oborevwori,s one year in office thanksgiving service , first as a Deltan . The idea of playing politics of party after elections does not augur well. Elections have come and gone , and so whether you are PDP , APC , Labour or whatever party, the welfare of the electorates should be on the front burner and not partisanship"
Senator Joel Onowakpo said he will continue to identify with activities of the state to ensure that the much needed development gets to every nook and cranny of the state , especially Delta South senatorial District which he represents at the Senate
