*Clark an unrelenting advocate of equity, fairness, says Funkekeme* ~ Truth Reporters

As First Republic Federal Commissioner for Information, Pa Edwin Kiagbodo Clark, continues the activities to mark his 97th birthday, he has been described as an unrelenting advocate of equity and defender of the virtues of true federalism and fairness.

In a message to felicitate the elder statesman,  Rt. Hon. Funkekeme Solomon said his leadership and commitment to the evolution of a more perfect union for the country is one of the few beacons and reference points as Nigeria grapples with the challenge of bringing the country back to the path of a true nation.

"Nigeria is lucky to have Papa Clark around as a leading light in the quest for a new nation", said Solomon, an Ijaw leader mentored by Pa Clark and Senior Policy Adviser to the Governor of Delta State.

"Although we are proud of him as the gift of Ijaw nation to Nigeria, he transcends the Niger Delta area where he is the leader. As a First Republic leader, he loves our country with an earnest desire to see Nigeria get out of the doldrums. As the leader of the Pan Niger Delta Forum, he has proved to be a crucial pathfinder as Nigeria seeks to return to the path of development ", Solomon stated.

He prayed God to keep the leader to continue to guide the country towards the direction of true nationhood.

In the course of events marking his 97th birthday, Pa Clark has expressed delight and happiness for God making him to attain the age of 97, adding that as the National Assembly reviews the 1999 Constitution, it was necessary to consider restructuring.

"This country must be restructured so that everybody will be equal; so that every Nigerian can aspire to the position he wants to be. President Bola Tinubu should face the political problem of this country for the development of all regions" the elder statesman said.
