PDP Reclaims Members From APC, LP In Oshimili South ~ Truth Reporters

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Oshimili South Local Government Area of Delta State has reclaimed the allegiance of hundreds of its members who previously defected to rival parties.

Returning from the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Labour Party) notably, the returnees, mostly unit heads led by Mr Tobechukwu Okonkwo, re-dedicated themselves to the PDP in Asaba.

They were welcomed back to the party by the senatorial leader (Delta North) Chief Moses Iduh; the Oshimili South PDP Chairman, Ogbueshi Dada Okonji; and former Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Peter Onwusanya.

Other party stalwarts who witnessed the influx include the former Chairman of Oshimili South Local Government Area, Chief Kelvin Ezenyili; member representing Oshimili South State Constituency, Hon Bridget Anyafulu, the Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Chief Darlington Ijeh, and Hon. Shedrack Rapu, among others.

Addressing the enlarged gathering, Chief Iduh stressed the importance of unity for the party to continue winning elections at all levels, even as he implored the party faithful to forgive all grievances and focus on the forthcoming elections.

He charged members of the PDP, Ward Nine, to receive the returnees back into their fold, warning that they (returnees) should be accorded all rights and privileges, and should not be discriminated against.

Earlier, the Local Government Chairman of the PDP, Ogbueshi Okonji commended Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for the MORE Agenda in Oshimili South, and the immediate past Governor of the State, Sen (Dr) Ifeanyi Okowa for his developmental strides.

On behalf of the returnees, Mr. Tobechukwu Okonkwo, regretted their decision to have left the PDP, even as he apologized for their actions. ‘’I apologize, I am sorry for behaving the way I did. But I guarantee my 100 per cent loyalty to the PDP and all my supporters across the entire Oshimili South will be committed to the PDP’’

‘’We will make sure that we do not only win our units, we will encourage others in other units to ensure that we deliver. We will do the needful for the PDP’’ Okonkwo said, even as he thanked Ogbueshi Okonji, Chief Iduh, and other bigwigs of the party in Oshimili South.
