IGCC mourns Asagba of Asaba ~ Truth Reporters
The Ibori Golf and Country Club has commiserated with the immediate family, the Asaba Traditional Council and the entire Asaba Community on the passing of the Asagba of Asaba, His Royal Majesty Obi Professor Chike Edozien, CFR.
The revered monarch who until his death at 99 years was the Patron of the Ibori Golf and Country Club, Asaba.
In a statement by the Captain of the Club and Director-General of the Delta State Capital Territory Development Agency, Chief Patrick Ukah said the Club will close the Golf course from 9.00a.m on Monday 19th, February 2024.
According to Ukah, the closure is in honour of the Late Asagba of Asaba, who untill his demise was the Patron of the Club.
He described the late king as an exemplary monarch who under his watch Asaba became one of the fastest growing cities in the country.
"On behalf of the Executive Committee of the Ibori Golf and Country Club, Asaba, I commiserate with the immediate family, the Asaba Traditional Council and the entire Asaba Community on the royal passage of His Majesty Obi Prof. Chike Edozien, CFR.
"As a mark of respect to the renowned monarch who was our patron, the Golf course will be temporarily shut down on Monday 19th February, 2024.
"As we mourn our departed father and patron, we urge the people of Asaba to take solace in the legacies of the great monarch.
"May the soul of His Royal Majesty rest in peace!" Ukah stated.
