DSPG Rector, Achuenu, Pledges Support For Delta TISHIP ~ Truth Reporters







The Rector of Delta State Polytechnic Ogwashi-Uku, Bldr. Professor Emmanuel Achuenu, has assured that his institution will key into the Tertiary lnstitutions Social Health lnsurance Programme ( TISHIP), of the Delta State Contributory Health Commission ( DSCHC).


The Rector gave this assurance when he received in audience , the Director General/ Chief Executive Officer of DSCHC , Dr lsaac Akpoveta , who paid the institution an advocacy visit recently.


According to Prof Achuenu , staff of the institution are already part of the programme , and as such , he is hopeful , that in no distant time, the Tertiary lnstitutions Social Health lnsurance Programme (TISHIP) for students will be launched to cover the students of Delta State Polytechnic Ogwashi-Uku.


He commended Dr. Akpoveta and his team for the giant strides they have recorded so far in increasing the number of enrollees under the programme in line with the health component of the MORE agenda of the Governor Sheriff Oborevwori administration.


Speaking with journalists after the meeting with the Rector, DSCHC Director General /CEO, Dr lsaac Akpoveta , disclosed that the essence of his advocacy visit was to ensure that students of the institution benefit from , and key in to the state health insurance scheme under the TISHIP arrangement.


Akpoveta disclosed that so far , over one million eight hundred and sixty persons have been enrolled under the scheme,  adding that Denis Osadebay University Asaba, University of Delta ( UNIDEL) , Agbor have already been enrolled while Delta Polytechnic, Otefe in Oghara, and Delta Polytechnic Ogwashi-Uku are next in line.


Akpoveta appealed to Deltans to key into the programme with a sum of seven thousand Naira and their health challenge are solved.


He said, "my appeal to Deltans, is to buy into the scheme as quickly as possible as the MORE Agenda of His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori says, we want to give MORE to Deltans, more good health".


"Health is wealth, with  only seven thousand Naira you buy the Health Insurance, you will receive treatment from the basic in-health to surgery, to delivery and to Cesarean section in the scheme”
