Umuiyibu Daughters, Wives Laud PDP Chairman For Christmas Bounty ~ Truth Reporters
Daughters and wives of Umuiyibu family, Umuezei, Asaba, Oshimili South Local Government Area, Delta State, have commended one of their illustrious sons, Ogbueshi Dada Okonji, for his regular display of generosity to his folks.
The women made the commendation when Ogbueshi Okonji, the Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Oshimili South Local Government Area, hosted them at his annual Christmas party.
Speaking through their leaders, Mrs. Felicia Chukwuma (on behalf of the wives) and Mrs. Nkechi Odigwe, who spoke through Mrs. Josephnie Okwudi (on behalf of the daughters), the women appreciated the chairman for the gifts of rice, salt, and money presented to them to celebrate the yuletide.
The women noted that the gesture was a palliative that would mitigate the impact of the economy on the people.
They said that it was an uncommon venture as Ogbueshi Okonji had made it an annual ritual to celebrate with them and urged other well-to-do indigenes to emulate the chairman.
Earlier, Ogbueshi Dada Okonji thanked God for the opportunity to provide for the women, adding that the occasion was to recognize the wives and daughters of the village for their role in keeping the family in peace, unity, and love.
He expressed delight over the prevailing peace in the Asaba community and Oshimili South local government area in general and attributed the situation to the ebullient leadership of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, community, and party leaders who had led in honesty and transparency.
According to him, the governor had sustained the legacy of his predecessor, Dr, Ifeanyi Okowa, and Deltans would continue to enjoy peace and development under this administration.
Ogbueshi Okonji urged the party faithful to remain committed to promoting the party and supporting the administration of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori.
