Agbi lauds Oborevwori's victory as tribunal strikes out Omo -Agege's petition ~ Truth Reporters
By Kelvin Ohoror
The Special Adviser to the governor of Delta State on projects monitoring/audit Dr. Goodnews Agbi has lauded the victory of the governor of Delta State as the Delta State Election Petition Tribunal, which strucked out the petition filed by the Delta State All Progressives Congress, APC Governorship candidate, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege against the election of the PDP candidate His Excellency Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori for lacking merit.
The details of the Tribunal's ruling was sketchy as at the time of this report, Dr. Agbi described the decision of the Tribunal as "a welcome development and confirmation of the mandate, majority of Deltans freely gave to the working governor of Delta State Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori,"
The three-member tribunal panel headed by Justice C.H. Ahuchaogu, in its judgment, affirmed the return of Oborevwori as the winner of the March 18, 2023 gubernatorial election in the state.
The tribunal held that the petitioners failed to prove allegations of non-compliance with the Electoral Act, corrupt practices beyond a reasonable doubt.
Dr. Agbi urged members of the opposition political parties to join hands with Governor Oborevwori in " his M.O.R.E AGENDA to fast-track the infrastructural and human capital development of the state."
