Okowa mourns Gen. Oladipo Diya ~ Truth Reporters

Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta, has extended his condolences to the Ogun State Government, the Diya family, and the people of Nigeria on the passing of Lt.-Gen. Oladipo Diya (retd). 

Diya, who served as Chief of General Staff during the Sani Abacha regime, passed away on Sunday morning after a brief illness, just days before his 79th birth anniversary. 

Okowa expressed sadness at the news and emphasized the need for wise counsel from individuals such as Diya in Nigeria's current situation. 

He urged Nigerians to remember Diya for his contributions to national unity and sovereignty. Okowa also highlighted Diya's military career, including his time as Military Governor of Ogun State and Vice Chairman of the Provincial Ruling Council. 

The governor offered his deepest condolences to the Diya family, the Yoruba nation, and the people of Odogbolu, Diya's hometown, and prayed for the soul of the deceased to rest in peace.
