10th CNS National Swimming Championships: Participants hail Delta for world class facilities ~ Truth Reporters

 

... Commend Aquatics Federation President, Chinonye Daphey for successful hosting 

  As the 10th edition of the Chief of the Naval Staff (CNS) National Swimming Championships drew to a memorable close recently at the ultra modern swimming complex of the Stephen keshi Stadium , Asaba, participants have in unison commended the Delta State Government for putting up a world class facility that ranks among the best in Africa.

  They equally hailed President of the Aquatic Federation of Nigeria , Chief Chinoye Daphey Aliu, for her role in the successful hosting of the four day swimming classics.

  The participants , drawn from the Nigeria Army, Navy , Police, Civil Defence corps among other states that participated , described Governor Okowa as a true sports  lover who has demonstrated his love for sports by in providing internationally acceptable sporting facilities for not only aquatics , but also other sports which has made Delta the sporting state to beat in the country.

   Noting that the President of the Aquatics federation of Nigeria , Chief Chinoye Daphey Aliu, a Deltan, has carved a niche for herself by her sterling leadership qualities and institution of global best practices in the federation,s activities , they had no doubt thst she would continue to lift the federation higher in the scheme of things.

   Also lending his voice to the string of commendations to the state government, the Technical Committee Director for the event, Patrick Megbele, affirmed that by every known technical standard, the championships had lived up to it's billing , as both participants and officiating crew were satisfied with the outcome of the results as well as the facilities in place at the swimming complex.

   The overall winner of the 10th CNS National Swimming Championships with a total of 12 gold medals went to the Nigeria Police Force, while Delta State received a plaque in recognition of the State,s immense contribution to the sport. The plaque was received on behalf of the State Governor , Senator Dr lfeanyi Okowa, by the Commissioner for Girl Child Entrepreneurship Development , Hon Nkechi Enumah Chukwura.

   In attendance at the closing ceremony was the Chief of the Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Awwal Zubairu Gambo , represented by Rear Admiral Patrick Nwanchu, the State Commissioner of Police , Ari Mohammed Ali, (represented), as well as top military and heads of security agencies in addition to members of the Aquatic Federation of Nigeria.
