Asagba lampoons Fejiro Oliver over malicious report on Okowa ~ Truth Reporters

The Asagba of Asaba, Obi Prof. Chike Edozien has berated online journalist, Fejiro Oliver over a malicious report on Governor Ifeanyi Okowa.

The Asagba in a statement by his Palace Secretary, Chief Patrick Ndili dissociated itself from the misleading and false report describing it as junk journalism.

The Palace urged journalists to always report facts and avoid feeding the public with fake news.

The statement reads, "The attention of the Palace of His Royal Majesty, the Asagba of Asaba has been drawn to an online publication by one Fejiro Oliver on Wednesday, 26th October, 2022.

"The Asagba of Asaba while welcoming the APC Gubernatorial candidate, DSP Ovie Omo-Agege (who paid a courtesy visit on the Anioma Monarchs' Forum) never at any point mentioned that *Okowa has failed to develop Asaba*, as erroneously reported by Fejiro Oliver.

"Journalists should essentially report only facts and avoid feeding the public with falsehood at all times.

"The Asagba of Asaba is a reverred Delta State Monarch of Anioma extraction and does not endorse anyone for political positions. As a father to all Deltans, His Majesty, the Asagba of Asaba, under the Anioma Monarchs' Forum has long adopted rotational policy amongst the three (3) Senatorial Districts for the selection of Gubernatorial candidates for equity, fairness and justice in Delta State.

"Consequently, the Palace of the Asagba of Asaba completely disassociates itself from Fejiro Oliver's reportage as it affects His Excellency, Dr Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa, the Governor of Delta State."
