Amgbaduba condoles Burutu flood victims, promises relief materials ~ Truth Reporters

 

The Delta State Commissioner for Oil and Gas, Prince Emman Amgbaduba, has sympathized with communities affected by the ravaging flood in most parts of Burutu local government area.

Speaking with Truth Reporters on telephone, Prince Amgbaduba described the flood as very terrible situation that had left many homeless and frustrated.

“The communities of Ayakoromor, Gbekebor, Obotebe, Tuomo, Torugbene, Agbodobiri, Egodo, Tamigbe, Aya-Ojobo, and my town, Okrika, to name just a few, are utterly devastated, Even as I am speaking to you now, I am a victim of this flood as my buildings are already covered by the flood in my community.

”I am aware that our governor has issued a directive to the Delta State Emergency Management Agency and other relevant government agencies to mitigate the harmful impact of the situation by assisting the affected people in the different camps set up by the government,"

He also said that, ”by God’s grace, I will be doing my best to assist my people starting next week in my capacity as Commissioner representing Burutu LGA in the State Executive Council".

He also used the opportunity to call on all political appointees from the local government to assist in their own way.

"I also want to use this opportunity to encourage my fellow appointees in Burutu LGA that, in this very trying period, we should strive to see how we can cushion the pain of our people by showing love to our brothers and sisters who are being made homeless by the flood in our LGA,” he added.
