It is crystal clear from Olorogun Ighoyota Amori’s actions that he has a good vision for the people of the Delta Central Senatorial District. The Prime Minister of Mosogar Kingdom has demonstrated a great deal of forthrightness in many undertakings of the Urhobo Nation in particular and Delta State in general.
In his interview with the Daily Independent a few days ago, Olorogun Amori outlined his stewardship as Commissioner for Education and Water Resources Development, which included massive infrastructural transformation in the entire education and water resources sectors; the establishment of the Faculty of Basic Medicine in DELSU-Abraka and DELSU Teaching Hospital, Oghara; the creation of four higher institutions, including three polytechnics (Ozoro, Ogwashi-Uku and Otefe-Oghara); and a College of Education in Mosogar, with regular payments of bursary to Delta students in tertiary institutions.
Besides these, some outstanding achievements of Odidimandi's impact in his seven months at the Senate before the court upturned his well-deserved victory include looking into how the Senate could help to revive some of the companies that have folded up, like the Delta Steel Company (DSC), Ovwian-Aladja, and Sapele Sea Port, to create jobs for the people. His representation was basically for the people, and he did everything possible to ensure that they had the very best representation in the Senate. The Urhobo people of Delta Central consistently acknowledge his pedigree and past records when it comes to human capital development.
When he gets to the Senate (2023 to 2027), the Orhohweghwughwe of the Universe will build on the solid foundation through a sustainable and inclusive leadership by providing the enabling environment for local and small-scale businesses to thrive.
In terms of security, he will collaborate with various security agencies by working with the constituents, Local Government Area, State and Federal Government, to boost the confidence of the people in carrying out their daily activities.
Therefore, ab initio, Amori knew he would be an asset to the upliftment of the Urhobo nation. He lives by example. His country home is in his hometown, Mosogar. In the past, one criterion for earning a traditional title from a king was your ability to build a befitting house in your community. Amori is eminently qualified in this regard. Amori's consistency in the PDP, not playing the politics of 'kpobonekpobone' is what makes him a hero.
One feels strongly persuaded to believe that the powerless opposition political parties in Delta State are yet to present to the voters in the Delta Central Senatorial District a healthy and competent politician that can measure up to Amori's pedigree. One is quite optimistic that the Urhobo people will massively vote for Chief Ighoyota Amori via the PDP in the February, 2023 general elections as the next Senator.
