Foremost copyrights lawyer, Igelige sworn-in as Notary Public ~ Truth Reporters








Foremost Nigerian and international copyrights lawyer, Rockson Igelige has been sworn in as a Notary Public of Nigeria. 


Igelige was sworn-in alongside seven others in Asaba on Thursday by the Chief Judge (CJ) of Delta State, Justice Theresa Diai on behalf of the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Olukayode Ariwoola. 





Notaries public who are by law deemed officers of the Supreme Court of Nigeria are appointed pursuant to the Notaries Public Act Cap. N141, Laws of the Federation of Nigeria 2004 and is one of the coveted ranks in the legal profession. 





Igelige, the Oleh-born expert in entertainment and copyrights law was recently listed alongside his partner at Remedium Chambers, Dr Ogaga Ifowodo among topmost 156 copyright lawyers in the world. 


They were listed by Who's Who Legal, WWL, based in London, United Kingdom, as highly regarded practitioners with impeccable knowledge of IP rights, particularly when it comes to entertainment and sports law. 




According to WWL Editorial published on July 20, in its IP 2022 - Copyright - Legal Marketplace Analysis, identified Remedium’s Rockson Igelige as a leading IP lawyer who is regularly sought after by clients in the entertainment industry for his stellar practice. 


Rockson Igelige, a graduate of Theatre Arts from the University of Benin, trained as a lawyer at the Delta State University Oleh campus. He also studied Entertainment Law at the University of Westminster, London. 


He has won high profile intellectual property cases in Nigeria was recently listed as a finalist in the British Council Social Action Award category for global Study UK Alumni Awards for 2021-2022.
