Delta 2023: Onwo calls for calm over Abuja court ruling ~ Truth Reporters
Majority Leader of the Delta State House of Assembly, Hon. Chief Ferguson Onwo has called for calm amidst Federal High Court ruling over Chief Sheriff Oborevwori as candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state.
Speaking to journalists in Asaba at the reception in honour of newly appointed Commissioner for Transport, Chief Mike Okah, Onwo said he has confidence in the judiciary to do justice to the case.
He said Oborevwori would explore all legal options to challenge the court ruling.
"We received with disbelief, the news of the judgement of the Federal High Court Abuja over our governorship candidate, Chief Sheriff Oborevwori.
"The court has ruled in favour of the applicants but we still have a right of appeal and we have commenced the process of staying execution of the judgement.
"I appeal to all our members and party faithful to remain calm while we follow all legal options to seek redress.
"It is a judgement that didn't go our way but we are hopeful that we will get judgement at the Appellate Court.
"Until the final judgement we shall not relent in the pursuit of the mandate freely given to our candidate by party delegates," Onwo stated.
