Golden crest academy holds 5th annual inter-house athletics competition ~ Truth Reporters

Golden Crest Academy Primary and Secondary school Emede, Isoko South Local Government Area, Delta State today ,4th of April 2022, held their 5th annual inter-house athletics competition.
Speaking during the event held at Emede Grammar School playground, Proprietor/Principal of the school Mr. Omobini Patterson stated that the 5th annual inter-house athletics competition is the day God has set aside to add another feather to the history of the institution which he said, was established September, 6th 1998.
He noted that, the importance of physical education or sports cannot be neglected in the educational development of the child as it caters for the social, mental and physical development of the child.
He reiterated that, the school authority is totally committed to the whole development of the child, noting that they are doing it to discover some hidden talents of the children so as to encourage, develop and expose them to the world, which in later will bring glory and honour to the society.
He also asserted that, since the inception of the school twenty four years ago with dedicated teachers, there are good reports about the academic performance of the learner.
He opined that, "We have presented students for both senior school certificate and junior both exams all our students performed excellently, he stated.
Mr. Omobini however appealed to Emede community and it environs not to look at the school as an individual business but a joint venture to support, compete and create more educational opportunities in training of children to enable them take up challenges of life.
He enumerated some of the excruciating problems facing the institution such as; Development of the permanent site, science equipment, sports equipment, desks, benches and provision of computers. appealing to invited guests and parents for help in cash or in kind to enable the school meet their immediate demands.
He therefore appreciate invited guests, the people of Emede community who left all they want to do to attend the sport event.
The chairman of the 5th inter-house athletics competition Evang. Duke Uzere in his address stated that sport is a very important integral part of life, it is something we need to do all the time.
Evang. Uzere urged parents to encourage their children to always participate in sporting activities, noting that some of the children talents if we'll harness they will go overseas and become bread winners of their family.
He lauded the school proprietor for organizing the inter-house athletics competition and allowing their children to participate.
At the end of the 5th annual inter-house athletics competition Chief Iboje House took the 1st position with two hundred and eighty six points, Osiawa House took the second position while Usiakpor House and Ovie took 3rd and 4th position respectively.
