Iteire assures of regular sanitation exercises in Isoko North ~ Truth Reporters





Isoko Isoko-North Council Chairman, Hon. Christian Othuke Iteire has assured of serious cleaning and regular sanitation exercises in order to ensure a proper hygiene and the reduction of the spread of diseases in Isoko North Local Government Area.


Iteire gave the assurance on Saturday, August 28, 2021 while monitoring the environmental sanitation exercise held in the local government area, particularly in Ozoro, saying, that, it was in line with his "administration's environmental aspiration and policy of a cleaner and healthier local government area".


As a way of curtailing flooding, Hon Ieire said, "with the cleaning of drains and canals across the Local Government Area, there would be free flow of water as it rains"


On the indiscriminately dumping of refuse, the Council Chairman revealed plans are on to address it, assuring that there would be provision of refuse bins which would be stationed at strategic locations in the local government area and carted away to refuse dump site.


The Isoko North Council Chairman expressed joy and satisfaction with the level of compliance of the people with the sanitation exercise, stating that Isoko North Local Government has departed from the bad culture of not observing  environmental sanitation exercise.


Expressing optimism that with sustained efforts by his administration, and the support and cooperation of the people, soon Isoko North will be most cleaner Local Government Area in the State.


The Council Chairman was accompanied on the monitoring by the Secretary to the Local Government Council, Hon David Ejoor Igbuduma, Supervisor for Environment, Hon Alebe Joshua Onos, the Chairman and members of the House Committee on Environment, Isoko North Legislative Arm, Hon. Ukodhiko Henry, Hon. Anythony Ugoje, Special Adviser to the Chairman, Hon. Imogu Joseph, Personal Assistant to the Chairman, Mr. Ovueferie Joseph the Head of Environment Department in the Council, Mrs Oko Edith.
