Ezechi charges NNU youth wing to unite into formidable force ~ Truth Reporters
The leadership of Ndokwa Neku Union (NNU) Youth Wing has been asked to unite youths of Ndokwa nation towards achieving common goals that will move the ethnic nationality forward.
Executive Assistant to Governor Ifeanyi Okowa on Youth Development, Honourable Nnamdi Ezechi, gave the charge when the Comrade Ifeanyi Odachi led executive of the youth wing paid him a courtesy visit at his residence in Asaba.
Ezechi said as the apex youth group in Ndokwa land, it behoved the NNU youth wing to show purposeful leadership that would accord recognition to the parent body led by Gen. Mike Ndubuisi (retired), critical stakeholders, clan and community youth organisations across the Ndokwa nation.
He stated that it was better for Ndokwa nation to speak with one voice on issues of common interest, stressing that the youth could do a lot to ensure that the area was not left out in the scheme of things by negotiating better deals for the people through dialogue, when necessary.
He congratulated the new executive of the NNU youth wing on a successful election and inauguration, promising to support the group's activities, particularly sensitization programmes aimed at creating awareness on governnent policies and programmes among the youth.
Ezechi reminded Ndokwa youths of the ongoing online voter registration exercise by INEC and urged them to avail themselves the opportunity to obtain their Permanent Voter's Card to be able to vote for candidates of their choice and be voted for during elections.
He said though the group was non partisan, it should assist in monitoring the activities of leaders at all levels as part of efforts to enthrone good governance, ensure equity, fairness and justice in the society.
Ezechi solicited continued support of Ndokwa people for the Okowa administration for the legacy infrastructural projects in Ndokwa nation and appointment of sons and daughters of the area to positions of authority.
Earlier, the Leader of NNU Youth Wing, Comrade Ifeanyi Odachi, said the visit was to introduce the new executive to Hon Ezechi and to thank him for his deep interest in the well-being of Ndokwa youths.
Comrade Odachi stated that the apex youth body would collaborate with stakeholders of youth related matters in the state to secure a better deal for Ndokwa youths and solicited the support of NNU worldwide and leaders in the attachment of set goals.
On the NNU Youth Wing delegation were the Vice Chairman, Ossai Dumbi Marshal; Acting Secretary, Valentine Oyemogum; Treasurer, Udoka Chukwuka; Financial Secretary, Okpoiche Christopher; Organising Secretary, Kester Onwubolu and Provost, Henry Odigwe.
