Murder in Oleh: Monarch commiserates with bereaved families, calls for calm ~ Truth Reporters

 

The Odiologbo of Oleh kingdom and chairman Isoko Nation traditional ruler’s council, HRM Anthony William O. Ovrawah, Omogha 1, has commiserated with the bereaved families of the 9 persons killed at Oleh, Isoko South local government area of Delta State.

The monarch while condemning the gruesome killing of 9 indigenes of Oleh kingdom described the action as barbaric, dastard and highly condemnable.

He stated that others are still missing just as he appealed to the people to sheathe their sword as investigation on the killing is been carried out by the state government.

The monarch said, “I and the Ovie of Ozoro kingdom, HRM Anthony Uvietobore Ogbogbo, Ibuka 1, received the report during a meeting at Asaba yesterday and was called to meet with the commissioner of police Hafice Inuwa, to urge the people to be calm and embrace peace”.

According to the royal majesty, "I called the chairman and some members of Oleh council of chiefs, the president and some honorable members of Oleh kingdom to meet with the bereaved families at Iye – Edho, Ota and Ogha Street to commiserate and urged the people to remain calm as government is aware and on top of the crises".

The monarch appealed to the people to go about their duties just as he urged farmers to continue their farming activities at Oleh farmland along Oleh / Ozoro road, adding that the situation should not stop farming activities in Oleh kingdom.

He maintained that the restriction of movement order for pedestrian along Oleh and Ozoro old road between 7. pm and 6.am beginning from yesterday Friday 16th of October 2020 till further notice by Sir Itiako Ikpokpo and Hon. Emmanuel Egbabor, both chairmen of Isoko South and North local government areas, should remain accordingly.

The royal majesty noted that Oleh Ada farmlands were the killing was perpetrated is not among the disputed land area, emphasizing that the issues of that farmland has been resolved many years ago.

He urged the people to remain calm, go about their business and farming activities as government is on top of the situation.
