Ashaka on "lock down" as supporters celebrate Osanebi ~ Truth Reporters
The little town of Ashaka, Ndokwa East, was practically ‘locked down’ for Rt. Hon. Friday Ossai Osanebi, as supporters and constituents gathered to celebrates his birth anniversary today, 7th October, 2020.
This was against Osanebi's plea and wish for a low key celebration by supporters and constituents in view of the COVID-19 pandemic.
There was indeed the gathering of well wishers, women, youths, yes, youths even from across Ndokwa East , for just one singular purpose- to rejoice and celebrate with a man who have made many of them, celebrities.
The story of Rt. Hon. Friday Ossai Osanebi could be likened to that of the biblical Joseph, who was packaged to preserve destinies. The old and young of Ndokwa nation were filled with joy and the atmosphere was like the traditional 26th of December and 2nd of January moods in Ashaka.
The statement was loud today that Osanebi, even in his absence remains a man of destiny and the leader of the people, genuinely loved by his people, which was demonstrated by the massive gathering of people in thousands, and the contagious joy cum acrobatic displays from the various dance groups.
The celebration was massive, with many groups, even outside Ashaka pitching tents in their various locations to observe the “Osanebi day”.
Special features of the event that took place in Ozomuku primary school Ashaka, were special prayers for the former Deputy Speaker, cutting of various design of cakes as were presented by groups, then dances.
However, Osanebi had in a special broadcast this morning appealed to his friends, well wishers, constituents and supporters to maintain a low key celebration, especially in line with the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) guideline on large gatherings.
