Okowa condoles Murray-Bruce over wife's demise ~ Truth Reporters
Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta has commiserated with Chairman of Silverbird Group, Senator Ben Murray-Bruce, whose wife, Evelyn, passed on Friday.
In a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr Olisa Ifeajika, in Asaba, the governor said that it was heartbreaking to hear of the unexpected passing of Mrs Evelyn Murray-Bruce, noting that her death was a great loss not just to her family but to the society at large.
He said that Mrs Murray-Bruce's contribution to the society was laudable and worthy of commendation and urged her husband, children and other family members to be consoled by the legacies she left behind.
"I learnt of the untimely passing of Mrs Evelyn Murray-Bruce, the wife of my good friend and brother, Senator Ben Murray-Bruce.
"It is indeed heart-breaking to lose a dear one, especially a wife of 41 years.
"Although death is the way of all mortals and debt we must all pay, I am nonetheless consoled by the fact that Mrs Bruce lived a worthy and exemplary life.
"She was known to have impacted so many lives while she lived.
"On behalf of my family, the government and people of Delta, I condole with my dear brother, Ben Murray-Bruce, on the passing of his beloved wife, Evelyn.
"It is indeed a painful loss but I urge you, Ben, and the entire family to take solace in the fact that she lived a life of great accomplishments and left indelible footprints.
"It is our prayer that God should grant you and the family the fortitude to bear this great loss," Okowa said.
Murray-Bruce, a Senator, who represented Bayelsa East senatorial district in the 8th Assembly, announced the death of his beloved wife, Evelyn Murray-Bruce, via his verified twitter handle on Friday.
He said he lost his wife of over 41 years to cancer.
