Dame Okowa Rallies Delta Women Against 'The Enemy Within' ~ Truth Reporters

Women have been charged to shut their hearts to bitterness, jealousy, unforgivingness and all negative thoughts in other to allow God in and obtain his mercies to deal with the Enemy Within.

This charge was made by the wife of Delta Governor, Dame Edith Okowa at the 13th edition of the Mothers Arise prayer conference held on Monday, February 3, at Unity Hall, Government House, Asaba.

Dame Okowa who led over 1000 women in the annual prayer meeting said that God cannot help anyone who has not dealt with the enemy within which is responsible for opening doors to greater enemies and evils into our lives.

Staying on the theme of this year's conference, 'The Enemy Within' - Proverbs 25:4, she urged all to imbibe the spirit of Forgiveness even before any wrong is done, "forgive any person, don't be bitter because it dries up the bone. We are first our own enemy not people outside".

While appreciating God for the success of the program, Dame Okowa commended the immediate past First Lady, Dcn. Roli Uduaghan for initiative of Mothers Arise prayer conference which began in 2008. She also thanked Delta women for coming out to pray for the future of their children, prosperity for the state and security of Nigeria.

In a sermon, Lady Chimemze Onya-Odike said that it is the enemy within that invites the ones outside and urged the congregation to clean their hearts of all jealousy, envy, greed, lust, inferiority complex which ultimately leads to stealing, hasty acquisition and dire enemity.

Onya-Odike who further x-rayed the meaning of Dross as stated in Proverbs 25:4 and Ezekiel 22:17-18 as impurities, said that God will subject all hearts to high melting points to remove every impurities so that we can work for him. "God is ready to refine us for his work. Once you are seated in heavenly place, your enemies will be under your feet".

The power packed prayer meeting also featured songs of praise, worship, choir ministration, testimonies and a session of prayers for the next generation (youths), Family, Church, Delta State and the Nation led by Barr. Mrs. Kesiena Samson, Pastor Child Anizor, Mrs Ngozi Bamah, Ven. Charles Osemenam and Bro Geoffrey Onyenachie respectively.
