Osanebi Football Competition : Amai, Ubulu-Uku battle for N1M prize Dec. 26 ~ Truth Reporters



Friday Osanebi football competition finalists, Amai Football Club of Amai, Ukwuani LGA and FC Ubulu-Uku of Aniocha South will tomorrow test their might when they file out for the Anioma Unity trophy.

The competition which began on the 14th of November at the Kwale township stadium was between Ogwashi-Uku and Beneku FC, in a battle for superiority.

According to Akamesike Manuel O’coney of Anioma Voice and head of the planning team, “the competition will be in acknowledgment and appreciation of the unity of the Anioma nation in the re-election of His Excellency, Sen. Dr Ifeanyi Okowa”.

The championship which drew eighteen communities drawn from the 9 Local government council areas of Delta North, is first of its kind and powered by the "Empowerment Maste" and immediate past Deputy Speaker of Delta State House of Assembly.

Matches were fixed and played across the three federal constituencies of Delta North - Aniocha/Oshimili, Ika, and Ndokwa/Ukwuani,

The final will be played at the Kwale Township Stadium, Kwale on Thursday, 26th December, 2019 by 2pm.

En-route to the final, the Amai youths edged out Beneku FC with penalty shoot out 4-3 at the Ogwashi-Uku township stadium and also sent Aboh Stars of Aboh out with a lone goal in the final rounds

The Ubulu-Uku men also tutored Asaba FC United 3-2 to the finals.

The second position will be compensated with half a million naira and the third placed team will go home with three hundred thousand naira only.

Speaking on behalf of the Friday Osanebi Foundation, Comr. Chibeze Osakuni said: “ put together, close to four Million naira has been invested in this project to consolidate on the unity of our people and harness raw talents”.

The competition is being organized by the Friday Osanebi Foundation in conjunction with Anioma Voice Worldwide.
