Delta Hosts South South Security Summit Nov. 26 ~ Truth Reporters

The office of the Inspector-General of Police in collaboration with the Delta State Government has scheduled a one-day security summit for stakeholders in the South-South Geo-political Zone.

According to the statement, the summit will hold on ​​Tuesday November 26, 2019 at Event Centre, Okpanam Road, Asaba by 10. 00 am.

The statement further stated that the theme of the summit “Strategic Partnership for Effective Community Policing” will discuss among other issues current security situation in the South-South Region, including Kidnapping, Armed Robbery, Cultism and Arms Proliferation.

Participants invited to attend the summit include the Governors of the six states of the South South zone,Traditional Rulers, members of the National and State Houses of Assembly, members of the Nigeria Police and other security agencies, members of the State Executive Councils and Chairmen of Local Government Councils from states in the Geo-political zone.

Other invited participants include, the representatives of the Nigeria Labour Congress, Civil Society Organizations, Executives of National Union of Road Transport Workers, National Council of Women Society, National Youth Council, Miyetti Allah, NUJ, Christian Association of Nigeria, President-General of Community Associations, Vigilante groups and top government functionaries.
