Avoid The Sin Of Condemning Others, Fr. Nwadei Urges Christians ~ Truth Reporters

A Catholic Priest, Very Rev. Fr. Hilary Nwadei has admonished Christians to shun the sin of engaging in condemning others.

Delivering a Homily at the celebration of the Holy Mass on Sunday at the Catholic Church of the Ascension, Asaba, Fr. Nwadei stated that those who commit the sin of condemning others are like the Biblical Pharasee who believed that he had no sin unlike the tax collector.

The Holy Mass was also, used to celebrate the Career Day of the church.

"If you find yourself condemning other people, you are among the modern day Pharisees as referenced in the Bible where the Pharasee was saying all the good things that he has done but, ended up in taking credits for the good things that he was doing without crediting the good deeds to God.

"There is nothing that we can achieve without the grace of God and the Pharasee also, judged his neighbour, the tax collector.

"In the book of Mathew, Jesus categorically, said, do not judge so that you will not be judged and He also said, why do you see the spec in the eyes of your neighbour without first, removing the log in your own eyes.

"The tax collector asked for God's mercy, acknowledging his sins and went home a righteous man whereas, the Pharisee went home, not righteous.

"Everyday of your life, you should be humble enough to acknowledge your sin because, the message is simple, be merciful to me, a sinner," the Priest said.

Speaking on the importance of the Career Day, the Parish Priest, Rev. Fr. Donatus Chukwuedo stated, "we are here to thank God in our various God-given careers and to encourage our children to aspire to be responsible citizens."

Associate Priest of the Catholic Church, Rev. Fr. Solomon Ugwummadu, the Ugoani of Okpanam, HRM Michael Mbanefo were among those who attended the Holy Mass
