Izeze Floors Annote Oteri At Appeal Court ~ Truth Reporters

The member representing Ughelli South Constituency in the Delta State House of Assembly, Hon Reuben Izeze, has again floored the candidate of the YES Party in the 2019 general election, Mr. Annotte Oteri.

The Appeal Court sitting in Benin, yesterday threw out the appeal filed by Mr Oteri and upheld the judgement of the elections petitions tribunal on the ground that the petitioners filed out of time having fell short of filing within the mandatory 21 days after declaration of results.

Truth Reporters gathered that after a resounding defeat at the just concluded House of Assembly elections in Ughelli South LGA, the YES Party candidate Annotte Oteri had polled a mere 1258 votes had proceeded to election petition TRIBUNAL and received a humiliating defeat when his wishy washy case was struck out.

Not satisfied with the judgement of the Elections Petitions Tribunal, Mr. Annotte Oteri proceeded to the Court Of Appeal in Benin.
However, the chickens came home to roost yesterday (15/7/2019) at the Court of Appeal, Benin City when the Court in a Unanimous Judgment DISMISSED the appeal against the ruling of the elections Petition TRIBUNAL which had earlier struck out the case for lack of merit.

When contacted by his Media Assistants yesterday to comment on his victory at the Court of Appeal, an elated Reuben Izeze simply responded saying, " First, I wish to thank God Almighty, the sole owner of power and whom alone giveth it to whoever He wishes without any form of human influence.

Secondly, I wish to express my heartfelt appreciations to the Ughelli-South CONSTITUENTS, who once again displayed their confidence in us by voting overwhelmingly for me and His Excellency, Senator Dr Ifeanyi Okowa during the March, 2019 Elections.

"Your support for me did not end with the victory at the polls but you all stood by me all through the legal processes. I can't thank you enough. Now that we have surmounted this judicial hurdle, all we have to do now is to squarely face our legislative business and bring effective representation to our people via robust legislature.

"To our faithful party Leaders and elders who believe in the unity of the party-PDP, I say thank you all for your supports and prayers all through the journey. Let me also use this opportunity to thank my Legal team from the REUBEN IZEZE & PARTNERS Chambers for their doggedness for this trying period of our existence.
